Louise smashed her 10mile PB and
in doing so became the first Guernsey woman to break the hour mark for the 10
miles on the road finishing the Club 10mile Championships in 6th place with a
time of 59:45.
July 2009 Double Island Games Champion !
Despite a fall mid way through the 10,000mtrs, Louise kept her composure to work back
to the leaders and with a powerful surge in the last 600mtrs claimed the first gold medal for Guernsey at
the Aland Island Games. She repeated her performance in the 5,000mtrs and went on to claim silver to
fellow islander Martine Scholes in the Half Marathon.
January 2009 County Cross Country Champion !
Louise took the women's Hampshire Cross Country title with a superb run at a frozen Dibden Purlieu
becoming the first Guermsey women to win a Hampshire Cross Country title.
About Louise
Louise was enticed into
running through being bribed with chocolate by her Cambridge University chums.
Shortly after she discovered a competitive instinct and set her sights on
wanting to win. She began competing for GIAAC in the final year of her studies.
After only two years of structured training she has became the
Island's leading female distance runner setting Island Records on the track at
3km (10min16.0sec) and 5km (17min50.2) and winning medals at the Shetland 2005
Island Games at 1500mtrs (bronze) and 5000mtrs (silver).
Winter 2005/2006 has
seen continued improvement with personal bests at 10km road and third place at
the Hampshire Cross Country Championships.
